Restyle It - The Button Down

Who else has mixed feelings about summer ending while also being excited for the fall weather again? I once heard someone respond to the question of "what's your favorite season?" with the response of "always the next one" - I can fully relate to that!

This style series post snuck into August (which came up so fast), but features items and recommendations of how to transition a button down from warmer to cooler days. Today's post features an oversized linen button down, boyfriend denim shorts, grey slides and my current favorite tortoise hoops. Check out some restyle ideas for the coming season, brands to find similar styles, and some accessory recommendations!

HOW TO MIX IT UP

-For the remaining summer season, pair your linen button downs with a knotted tie over a dress or skirt.
-Although linen is typically worn in warmer weather, (because the fabric is very breathable and keeps you cool) it can be paired with warmer items for the fall season. Pair with cardigans, a light sweater, or blazer.
-The oversized button-down style is tied at the bottom with these denim shorts, but is regularly longer on my shorter torso. Longer styled shirts are perfect to be worn over or tucked into long pants and denim for the cooler seasons.
-Pair your button downs under your sweaters for a new versatile look. This pairing makes it easy to rewear your sweaters without it appearing as the same outfit again and again.
-Use accessories like necklaces, scarves, earrings and hats to pair up or down a linen button down for day or night.
