Responsible swimwear brands to know

With the warmer weather arriving, I've been on the search for new seasonal ethical items. Swimwear was a big search to track down companies that are focused on responsible + sustainable sourcing. Luckily, Instagram makes it easy. Below are a few companies that I have come across with a loyal customer following, responsible items and attractive styles

Azura Bay : for those of you looking for a fun silhouette or print, this is the brand to check out. Suits are ethically made with eco fabrics, recycled fiber, waterless digital printing (cool!)  in California and in Fair Trade facilities in India. If you love the swimwear, be sure to check out their other items like undergarments, lounge & sleep and more.
Price : ranges from $50 - $250

Patagonia : for the sportier look and reliable quality, Patagonia is a great brand to check out for swimwear. All of their men's and women's suits are Fair Trade Certified and many of them are even reversible to provide versatility. My personal favorites are the Reversible Cutback Bikini Top and One-Piece Kupala Swimsuit.
Price : ranges from $55- $130.

Vitamin A : this is another brand that is a must-check out if you're on the hunt for an attractive bikini and unique silhouette. Lots of options with a cool behind the scenes process. The suits are made from recycled nylon fiber and their "prints are created, when possible, with waterless digital technology at factories specially chosen for their innovative approaches to conserving electricity and water."
Price : ranges from $75 - $230

BIKYNI : check this brand out for an affordable, trendy and high quality suit.  Although there are only a few current styles, there are a mixture of sporty, casual and "dressy" suits. The brand makes their swimwear in Los Angeles from Italian ethically sourced fabric cutting out the traditional markups. A few favorites are the The Crop and The Racerback.
Price : all individual bikini items are $50 and the one-piece is $95

...They also have created a thorough fit guide for their suits to make ordering online a little less intimidating.

Swoon : this brand reminds me of the variety offered in retailers like Target or Old Navy... except Swoon is ethically sourced and Made in the USA (win!). Fun, affordable and versatile patterns that can be swapped out with different suits.
Price : ranges from $45 to $75

prAna : another big-brand and reliable source for fair trade and ethically made goods. Their swimwear line is for the sporty and fit - whether at the beach, pool or out being active in the summer time. I'm a huge fan of prAna and their other product lines so check them out!
Price : ranges from $50 to $100

THE ONES WHO : if I wasn't obsessed with a swimwear company, I am now. The styles offered are minimal, flattering and constructed intentionally. The suits are sustainably sourced as made and designed in Los Angeles with a focus on each detail. Although I do not own a suit yet, a favorite that has caught my eye is the Luna One-Piece.
Price : ranges from $50 - $140
