December Quick Read : 5 Instagrams to Follow
The best tool that I've come across while pursuing a responsible style is Instagram. It's simple, inspiring and has the strong ability to connect with others for a common cause. And lucky for all of us, the responsible fashion industry has a strong presence on the app! Here are a few of my current favorites that I believe will help continue along your ethical + sustainable journey.
FOLLOW
@fashrev : Fashion Revolution is one of the most informative accounts to follow. This organization advocates for the ethical + sustainable aspects of the fashion industry with impactful graphics, revealing facts about the industry and inspiring words from designers, influencers and makers. This is the organization that began the #whomademyclothes campaign as well as putting on the annual global movement for Fashion Revolution Week.
@adaypack : This account is a perfect follow for men and women, because there's real-life couple behind the Instagram. Emily and Nick started their blog to promote ethical style for everyone through creativity, brand highlights, and advocacy for specific causes (like Dressember). They are some of my favorites and I am constantly inspired by their unique voice and knowledge about the industry.
@simplylivandco : Another amazing blogger, Olivia of Simply Liv and Co, has been pursing a responsible style for some time now. She is constantly remaining an inspiration through her brand highlights, style posts, slow + purposeful living and vulnerability. With a follow, you will continue to learn more about everything she advocates for as well as companies and the responsible style community.
@dressember : You may have heard about Dressember on The Good Wear's Instagram this month, but this annual campaign is one to know. Dressember was started to raise awareness and finances to combat human trafficking. The challenge that goes along with the month is to wear a dress every day to stir conversations + ask others to donate towards the cause in order to fight for freedom for all. All funds raised go towards IJM and A21 to continue global efforts of restoration, rescue and redemption for victims.
@thegarmentlife : Morgan's mission with The Garment Life is to connect women with responsible brands - and she's done such a great job at this. Each season, The Garment Life provides a curated capsule list of brands and styles to shop that are all ethically created by small businesses around the world. Her goal is to real clothes on real women wearing to make it easy to be inspired on how to wear the chosen items. Her Instagram is one to follow to stay up to date for the capsule releases and overall responsible living!
